Arrived at the parking lot at 7am and it was packed to overflowing. We parked on the side of the road down a ways and walked up to the trail head. Bathrooms there which was great after driving out. I am new to longer hikes so I prepared myself for this to kick my butt and kick my butt it did. This was the farthest, highest altitude hike I’ve ever done. For me personally it was really hard. It did become mind over matter at one point. Ha!! Very rocky and steep. The weather was beautiful and way cooler than down in the valley. I carried 3 liters of water and we ate lunch at the summit which was amazing!
I hiked with my husband and son in law who were patient waiting for me…we did it in 6 hours.
