As I hiked through Baldy Bowl Trail, thought of the day was just like mountains, everything has its own challenge. Do your best always, never left things unfinished and finish it with attitude that you can do it all. When it’s done, determine whether you will be back to go through it again or move on to the next. Reached the summit and felt very accomplished.
The wind at the peak was very strong and suddenly it became cold quickly. Joined other hikers to gather around by the emergency wind shelter and had a great chat with fellow Socal Six pack of Peaks challengers.
The night before the hike I was very nervous seeing other posting regarding Devil's Backbone Trail, and was contemplating whether or not I should go down via Devil's backbone or just go back down via Baldy Bowl again. But I said to myself “Let's try, and if I got too scared, let's see”. So started hiking down and went through the whole backbone without any problem. The whole way down I was anticipating the scary situation posted online but got nothing but pure beauty. I was very lucky that it was cold and windy all the way down, the cloud was passing by and had no issue of heat or lack of water. Overall, it was great that I can review the trails from others, but never know until I tried it myself. A success conquering my own fear.
