Santiago Peak is always one of the peaks I wanted to hike for a long time. With the road condition that I’m getting, I don’t want to risk my small car in such stress. Then I finally have a couple that I influenced into hiking last year and we planned on doing this hike, since they have a truck???? It was my #12 for the challenge if the fire dis not happen (sigh). But yesterday was a very exciting day as we were able to summit with a few miles of off roading and almost a 10mile hike. It was also fortunate because the weather just stayed cool with lots of clouds but not enough to cause any drizzle that may cause access closures again. It was my last opportunity to be able to complete at least 6 by end of september or worst I’ll have to call in to hike some other peak on Sept 30 lol. It wasn’t procrastination, it was just sometimes other aspects of life is on the way to hike (hahaha) and all I can do is to make it work somehow even if I won’t be able to finish the original 6. I’m so glad I put all effort to complete 6 and hopefully some more before end of the year????
