Flatiron. Wow.
I didn’t think this hike was going to be as challenging as it was, but it was definitely work to make it to the top. Tons of scrambling and a ton of elevation gain. Ran into Flatiron Jim near the summit which was pretty cool. The views are absolutely spectacular and everybody on the trail were cool AF! I’ll definitely be back. To equate the hike to any other hike in the valley it’s essentially like climbing Camelback 3 times consecutively. I was sore for a few days after the hike due to pushing it so hard, but I’m really happy with the time I logged. NOTE: I normally don’t take water or snacks on hikes, but I told myself that next time I’d be eating breakfast beforehand, taking my camelbak, and some snacks for sure. Pushing it and spending a decent amount of time at the summit was 3 hours and 42 minutes total elapsed time from my car and back with a total moving time of 1 hour and 48 minutes.
