The trail was in good condition overall. Once we reached the halfway point marker (1.4 miles marker) we started to see snow patches throughout the trail and the higher we got the more snow there was. The weather was crisp and cold. Once we reached the top of the peak there was tons of snow as well as ice on the road of the observatory. Going up was hard and strenuous but an awesome climb. We decided to go down the Sierra Madre side and onto the Upper Winter Creek Trail. The descent down was brutal because we were staring to lose energy and become very tired. I advise everyone to take that same route down because if you cross towards the Lower Winter Creek Trail you will have that half mile hike up to the parking lot. The Upper Winter Creek Trail goes around and above the parking lot and much easier and such a reward seeing it after a hard hike such as Wilson.

Yeah, that half mile hike UP the paved road when you take the Lower Winter Creek Trail sucks. No way to mince words. :p
