Tips from Your Ambassador:
1. Go early because the parking lot gets full and the hike is very exposed to the sun.
2. You need an adventure pass to park.
3. No water along the way so make sure you bring a lot!
This year, I was determined to do things a little differently so I am doing the alternate peaks this time. So, this was my first time with my group doing Mt. Baden-Powell. I read all about the switchbacks, but switchbacks are a part of hiking so we were ready for them! We started at 8 am, but with the sun, we should of started earlier. The views from the trail were amazing and got better as you went up. My group was back to the parking lot by 3 pm and this is a great training hike for the other peaks. We met tons of people either training for trail runs, hiking, or backpackers doing the PCT.
Overall, I liked this peak over Mt. Wilson because it doesn’t lead you up to a parking lot. It goes up to a top of a mountain! Also, it has some bugs, but not annoying ones like Mt. Wilson does. I’m glad it was added to the 6 Pack!

Fantastic pics, Shana! Looks like a beautiful (though exposed) day. Glad you enjoyed Mt B-P! 🙂
