On arriving at the trail head there was a large board with information on it. About a mile into the hike we came upon
a big sign saying the trail from there to the summit was closed. We took another trail back to the trail
head and then walked over to the ranger station to ask why there was no notice at the trailhead regarding
the trail closure. It being Saturday the station was closed. On a small piece of paper on a notice board outside
the station was a note saying the trail and road to the summit was open as of Jan 2023. Unable to hike the mountain we then drove
to the Grand Canyon and hiked there with our dog.

Oh no! Which trailhead did you start from?
The forest service website says that Trail #21 is open.

We started at the trail head adjacent to the Kaibab Ranger Station, but not mention of the trail closure at the notice board at the trail head.
