We needed a moderate hike today after climbing up Camelback Mountain yesterday. So, on to Fremont Saddle via the Peralta trailhead. There’s a 6 mile drive on a dirt road, but we did fine in the Prius. It was a good gradual hike and the view from the saddle was amazing. For being winter in Arizona, it got up to 70 degrees, and there is minimum shade on this trail so go early or later in the day or bring lots of liquids. Like yesterday, the ranger was there and was nice to talk to. You can also backpack this trail, which I may do another time!
