This is a beautiful mountain. It was a busy day on Saturday. There were a lot of people on the trail. The weather was perfect but it got a little warm as we descended to the parking lot. We started at 0500 and with a short nap at the summit got back to the parking lot at 1800. We saw a half dozen folks maintenancing the trail. Cutting back brush. Not sure if they were forestry staff or volunteers. Said thank you to each one of them. On our way down we passed a small army headed up to campsites and the summit for an overnight. A night at a campsite is definitely the way to summit this peak. It has been 15 months since I hiked here and the trail from the parking lot across the creek bed is a little different. The melt from the snowpack must have been amazing to see here. Now for the corrections…there was snow at the top and there were a few bugs at the bottom after you crossed the creek bed.
