We started this peaks challenge as a diversion from half marathons. And to prove we can do anything!
Soon after beginning, we realized we were going in the opposite direction than what ‘normal' hikers do, but then my friend and I have never been described as normal or following directions well.
Saw a bunny. Lots of wildflowers. Ate some Skratch gummies and took a product placement Skratch photo.
Reaching the summit was the easiest part! What a view! Upon summiting we assessed the physical qualities of cyclists who thought it was a good idea to cycle to the summit. Someone might want to assess their intelligence. We assessed if we ever would want to do that. The quick decision was no. (Though I am kind of intrigued about it).
The hike down was slightly nightmarish because we could not find the trail down and made a detour loop that ended us back at the summit. Ended with some wild turkeys and a picture of the trail post that clearly said we were suppose to go left and not straight. [insert crying laughing emoji]
After nine hours of being on a mountain, the next peak will be taking place on a Saturday and with a clearer focus of paying attention to which direction we are going.
