Challenge completed. Trekking up Humphreys Peak marked the end of our summer peak challenge. We hit the trail at 7am and reached the summit at 1015am. Outstanding views at the top and saddles viewing down into the inner basin area as well west toward Kendrick, Bill Williams and the Grand Canyon. Fall foliage is at its peak which added to the viewing. Very crowded on the mountain today, many were there to view the solar eclipse. Actual hiking time for us was 5.5 hours, 3 hours up and 2.5 hours down. Some scrambling over the last mile or so. Trail was relatively easy to follow. Windy and cold at the saddles but warmed up nicely by time we reached the summit. Will definitely do this one again. Will sleep well tonight.
