It was a beautiful day for a hike and we weren't the only ones to think so. As it is “winter,” we headed out later than usual for a peak hike. At 8am, with the lot full, we found parking on Ortega Hwy across from the trail head. We headed up Bear Canyon Trail, passed some small and large groups along the way. As we got closer to four corners, we could see the line of hikers headed up Sitton Peak Trail. There was a traffic jam both going up and coming down Sitton Peak Trail and a crowded summit, but everyone was in good spirits. Enjoyed some time at the peak and took turns taking peak photos. Got pics with both the old and the new peak sign – brought and left courtesy of a another hiker – thank you! Thank you also to the hiker who loaned me her SixPackofPeaks Challenge Flag! Heading down, at Four Corners, we opted to take the slightly longer Bear Ridge Trail – well worth it. Beautiful scenery and views and we had the trail to ourselves.
