Snow:

Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

This was my 2nd time up Baden Powell and I loved it.  It wasn't overly crowded, but there were tons of PCT through hikers with lots of great stories to tell.  It definitely made for an enjoyable morning!

***NOTE***

There is still a good amount of snow/ice on the trail towards the summit.  I (and every else on the trail on Saturday) felt frustrated by all the trail reports that said the snow was gone.  IT IS NOT GONE.  I wish I'd had spikes because it was too slippery to navigate without them.  Everyone has essentially cut additional trails around the main switchbacks to avoid the snow.  It was fine, but definitely steep, rocky and sketchy at times.  I'd recommend spikes and/or poles for at least the foreseeable future.  It's going to be awhile before it all melts.
