Saturday, May 12th, I co-hosted a collaboration hike with our trail running group (Trail Fanatix) and the amazing 213 Hikers. The weather could not have been better for this long and tiring hike. We had a number of hikers who were summiting San Gorgonio for their first time. It is always wonderful to see the sense of accomplishment people get after tackling this beast of a mountain. Though this is not my favorite mountain to climb, just based on the number of miles alone, you can’t beat the spectacular views you get as you ascend higher in elevation.
I am so grateful for the amazing opportunity that Social Hiker offers to all of us through this challenge. This final hike brought my Eight Pack of Peaks Challenge to a close. It was the best way to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend!!!

Congratulations, @carisa-hernandez! You are the 5th person to complete the “8-pack” — the original six peaks plus both alternates.
Thank you Jeff!!! I am so grateful to be an Ambassador this year. I have had the amazing opportunity to help so many new hikers reach peaks for their first time this year. It makes multiple treks up the same route feel like it’s the first time when I see their faces light up! Thank you for the honor of sharing this challenge with so many! It is appreciated!
Congratulations Carisa and team! We hiked Mt. Baldy yesterday and LOVED the clouds in the photos! It was fun looking at your photos from San Gorgonio!!! Great job on hiking all 8 peaks… you may have just encouraged me to do the same!!! We’re on hike #3 and on schedule to be finished by July. I may just add the two alternate hikes on now too!!!
Congrats on your summit of Mount San Antonio. These mountain peaks are all beautiful! I say hike all eight, you won’t be disappointed!
My husband and I are doing Mt. Gorgonio in 2 weeks. Do you have suggestion of the best place to camp over for 1-night. We are doing MT. Whitney on June 3rd, and really want to exsperience it all!
We did Cucamunga , and San Jacinto in the past 2 weeks, loved them both!!
Thanks
June
Hello…Congratulations on summiting Cucamonga and San Jacinto!! As far as camping on San Gorgonio, it would depend which trailhead you were planning on starting from. If you will be beginning at Vivian Creek there is a camping area at High Creek that is really nice. Keep in mind, a permit is required for an overnight. Be sure to submit for that in advance. Happy trails to you, and many congratulations on your Six Pack accomplishments thus far!!!
