San Jacinto peak
First time ever hiking up San jacinto.
First of all the ride up the tram is pretty cool but the price is a bit on the expensive side plus parking, that's a 42 dollar summit. Mmm at the end its worth it.
Once again driving from San diego so this ride was long, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It's hot at the bottom so that's a con but it's understandable on the place we were. The ride up the tram felt a bit crowded but it was doable. Once at the top the climate change, from a hot 98 to a cold 70s big change. The trail is beautiful I had no problems with that. The pine trees make this hike even better.
Once the trail opens up there's no more shade so my best tip is walk fast lol is not bad. We ended up going of trail for some reason or the other but we managed to get to the hut. We went in checked the inside left some Roxy stickers and headed to the summit.
I miss calculated this hike time wise because of our starting time. We usually start hiking at 6 instead of 8 lol we summit around 12.30 at the summit there was a plethora of people already there. We settled on the side of the summit and ate some burritos that we prepared. Small thing ants are huge and there's alot of them so becareful with that. I ended up spraying bug spray on the place i was going to sit. Once we had lunch we summited officialy touched the plaque and the two markers at the summit. Took some pics and headed our way down.
This time on our way down we lost the trail but managed to find it, somehow we missed the hut on our way out but it's okay next time will take more pictures. The trek back felt long and strenuous must of been because of the time and I was fighting some stomach problems since the beginning of the hike but ended up summiting.
And with that my socal six pack challenge is completed. I will more likely summit the other 3 missing but we will have to see how mentally and physically we feel. Now off to half dome and mt. Whitney.
Safe hiking.
