Traveled about an hour east to get to the trailhead; our journey there was a very nice drive on a Sunday! Parking only on the side of the road and on one side bushes with branches and the other, literally off the pavement…this was probably the “worst thing”! Hike was a serious uphill grinder from the get go, and with the elevation being above 3000ft, this sea level crew felt it a little. Once into it, it was a good workout for one of the shorter hikes. There were a good amount of people, but not too many and most were wearing mask, thank you! Took our time to get to the top, about an hour and 10, circled around to find the summit, perhaps a little inconspicuous, but nice to chill out with our beers! Headed back and took the offshoot route, Five Oak Trail, for a difference in scenery and terrain, which added on a little more mileage…which was a good thing! Overall we liked the trail a lot!
