This past Sunday, I began my quest to complete the 2020 Northern California Six-Pack of Peaks. I climbed to the summit of Mt. Um (3,486 ft.). Including the walk around the top (to read the signage and to check out the sacred Native American site), it was a beautiful 8-mile trek through forests loaded with Manzanitas. Lots of switchbacks…
At the top of the mountain is an abandoned concrete radar tower. The tower was part of a radar surveillance post which operated from 1958 to 1980.
One down…five more mountains to go! ⛰
