It was a perfect day for a long hike, starting around 6:30 a.m. Warm but not hot. Sunny but plenty of shade along the way. Lots of trees and greenery. We saw one deer and a small rattlesnake along with the usual squirrels, chipmunks and lizards. The trail climbs pretty steadily. I found it to be strenuous but not difficult. Still, it took us over 4 hours to reach the top, where we found a great view. I definitely would take this trail again!
