My first hike of the pack I went with my head held up high ready to tackle this mount. I have always been big on hiking, it started years back with my family and it has evolved into one of my favorite hobbies. Since school has been out I have been doing one hike a week so I thought I was ready, welp I was definitely wrong. My friend and I got there around 10:30 it was nice and sunny the temp. was in the id 80's but the cool strong breeze made it feel like the low 70's. The scenery was beautiful the different meadows you crossed as you went up the mountain would made anyone want to sit and relax to enjoy the day. Going up was a struggle to say the least, I did not account for the difference in elevation; higher then what I am use to. I was struggling gasping for air but taking two small rests was just what I needed to make it to the summit. At the top you had great scenery of Julian one side (What i assume was the town) and on the other side large mountain ranges. My friend and I had a great time during the hike well worth the trip from San Diego. After the hike we stopped in town to enjoy a slice of pie a well deserved treat after a great hike.
