The Keliinoi Ohana (Mom, Dad, Koa, & Zoe) headed up to Julian on a sunny Saturday morning. Not earlier risers, we started our hike by midday. The trail was busier than we expected. Trail is very well maintained and kept. We were told by other hikers to expect a lot of mud, slush, and snow patches. We diverted to Five Oaks Trail per recommendations of those we encountered on the hike up. It was a great choice as we were able to enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding area. We quickly shed layers as it got really hot. Once half way to the summit, snow became visible. We began slowing down as Koa and Zoe played in the snow. Once at the summit, the weather changed, becoming quite windy and chilly, and we were glad we had layers to add back on. All in all, a great hike.
