My boyfriend and I started our hike on Veteran's Day at 7:30 a.m. The weather was perfect. It was brisk, chilly, and a little windy when we first started. Hiking through the canyon was stunning. There was fall foliage everywhere! There were bright yellows and burnt orange-yellow colors in the trees and all over the ground. As soon as you hike towards the back of canyon where you start to incline the fall foliage disappears. When you arrive at Kelly's Camp, hike to the left of the fork. That'll take you up to the peak. We made it to the summit in 3.5 hours. It was packed with hikers. We even met a few doing the six peak challenge. The weather at the top was perfect but the view was awful. As far as you can see, clouds covered the horizon. We had lunch then hiked back down. We made it back to the car at 2pm. I do enjoy Ontario peak trail more than Cucamonga because it is a more gradual enjoyable incline. I couldn't believe how packed the trail was in the afternoon with families, dogs, and hikers as we got closer towards the bottom. It was so busy but I didn't mind the extra company.
