I decided to do this hike on Veteran's Day because it was named after a soldier and founder of the boy scouts so I found it to be more patriotic with a flag at the top. I started later than I normally do around 7:30am. The weather was nice but colder towards the peak because of the wind. I went alone but found a nice lady that I ended up hiking along with to the top. My camelbak did get punctured some how so my bag was wet and my water leaking so my only concern was having dry clothes and enough water but the trail was only like 8 miles so I figured I would tread on anyway. The top was very beautiful and the flag flying in the wind on Veteran's Day filled me with pride for our country and for the challenge of doing the hike. I actually had cell service on parts of the hike which surprised me because usually anytime I am in the mountains there is no service at all.
