To be honest, I almost completely forgot that I had summited this peak; but not because of the trail, or the company, or the level of exertion that I am sure was put into getting to the top.  I had to scroll through my photo album to even grab the date of the hike.

Back on April 1st 2023 there was snow on the trail, the morning was nice and chilly but by the time we started our descent the firm and cold ice/snow had become a monstrous combination of mud and slush that created very slippery conditions and left my hiking boots caked in mud.

This is my second time summiting Volcan and the last time I was unable to locate the Geo marker, so this time I took advantage of the fact that the rest of the group was busy taking pictures that I decided to go exploring .. and guess what?! I found the Geo marker and the peak sign.  I was soo excited I shouted all of my hike mates’ names and I even used the whistle built into my pack that it sounded like a rave at the peak ** wooo **
