Double feature today with Volcan Mountain and Cuyumaca Peak. Up first was Volcan Mountain and it was a beautiful morning as @kngizzo80 and I opted for the 5 Oaks Trail which takes you away from the normal fire road up to summit.

Then the 25 minute trip down to Paso Picacho campground to head up Cuyumaca Peak. We opted for the Azalea Glen Loop which takes you off of the asphalt road to the summit. This allowed us to spend some time in the snow as we worked our way up. That last push on Cuyumaca is always the worst but overall a fun and rewarding day.

Volcan Mountain – 5.52 miles / 2 hours 3 minutes / 1,300 feet elevation gain

Cuyumaca Peak – 7.7 miles / 3 hours 21 minutes / 1,861 feet elevation gain
