From the start I could tell this was going to be an enjoyable hike.  The beautiful entry way into the preserve just set the tone! The day was cool, with a blue sky and it just made me so grateful that I was able to spend the day walking in this beautiful place.  I was a tad bit disappointed that the trail started off to be a wide bike style trail, but I discovered the alternative route called the Five Oaks Trail, which added 1/4 mile to the distance…who doesn't love that! I was so happy that I chose it as the views were awesome and the trail was fun. This trail is definitely for anyone who enjoys a good walk up a hill! I was only disappointed that I didn't bring a lunch so I could have spent more time just enjoying this beautiful day and fun little mountain.  After the trail, I went to Julian for a nice lunch and some apple pie of course and I as even able to do some trail magic and give a few of the PCT hikers a ride into town! So all in all it was a great day.
