1st up:Wasson. What a great starting point for my challenge. I went with a friend, but I would feel comfortable doing it solo. Head -down- and -March kind of thing. Started out in the wash, not following the trail (happy accident), but ended up at the trail about a mile in. There was a good amount of shade in the wash, not sure if it was shady up in the road- we could not see it at all. We did have to climb a Boulder or two to get out of the wash. It was cool-60s to mid 70s with lovely breeze. This was challenging in a “damn, this trail is frickin long” kind of way, but the up is gradual and there’s nothing requiring unusual skill. I felt safe. Top is roomy, and of course, spectacular views.
