WHAT A FANTASTIC TRAIL / PEAK. I loved everything about the abundant variety of cactus, the colorful cactus flowers, and the flow of the trail. This was my first visit to this Saguaro NP and I read reviews that counter-clockwise was preferred; I enjoyed following the same route. The unique picnic spots and small landmarks gives the trail some rich history while the switchbacks and winding paths offer a beautiful journey towards the top. Although it is challenging, the views from the peak are absolutely unreal and offer views of several other peaks / mountains too. I encountered only 3 other hikers, 1 of which was a peak-bagger that was relatively close to the top. I loved having the trail to myself (alongside my backpack buddy) and I would very much hit this trail again, probably clockwise next time!
