This was by far the hardest hike I’ve done. There are a few short areas with a “trail” but they lead to rocks and then disappear. The trail is mostly climbing over boulders, finding no way forward and then climbing back over them to look for a new route. By the time we got to the end of the canyon we were exhausted and had no way to get out to climb up so we turned back. I ran out of my 3L of water just as we approached the parking lot. This “hike” is mostly wayfinding and climbing/scrambling and it is INTENSE. I don’t recommend this as a future peak challenge hike.

Am I reading this right? You did not summit? So sorry. I have also recommended that this be taken off the Six Pack list and replaced by something else. I too struggled on this hike a few months ago. Mostly because I made some poor choices on my decent. If you’re interested, I do intend to return in 2022 to complete the Six Pack again. Even if this isn’t on the list, I be willing to help you get to the summit. 🙂
