Not too hot in the shade, but the sunny part of the trail around Mt Zion was pretty hot. Recommend bringing lots of water, we needed more than we had for Cucamonga. However, there’s a water fountain at Sturtevant camp for refills.
The bugs became more annoying later in the evening so bring bug spray… and bear spray! We saw a mama bear with 3 cubs and another bear by itself between the camp and the top of Mt Wilson.
