We are having beautiful weather in Sedona right now and through the weekend. The high was only in the 70's yesterday. Trying to get the Sedona hikes done before we hit the 90's. The North Wilson trail has a good bit of shade and breeze so that is helpful. The first 2 miles are a lot of work. Once you reach the First Bench Wilson Mt. it is still up but not as strenuous. The 2nd part of the hike to the summit was my favorite. We hiked through dense green with so many wildflowers. Have never seen such an abundance of wildflowers or so much variety. We made up names for the ones we did not know. At the top we had a wonderful picnic, enjoyed the views and bird watching. Coming down the last 2 miles is steep with a lot of loose gravel under foot so stay on your toes. This hike takes the better part of the day so give yourself plenty of daylight. We all agreed it was totally worth the hike.
