Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

We started our hike at around 9 am. We parked near the Mt Baldy Trailhead and took the Mt. San Antonio trail up. This trail had a steeper incline. For the first 2 miles or so, it wasn’t so bad. After passing the Green Hut, the trail was covered with more snow and the wind was picking up. We donned our micro spikes and were good to go. The higher we went the more wind there was. It helps to have a scarf or neck gator! As we approached the top, I definitely began to feel the burn in the upper legs lol. We made it to the peak, where there was clear skies but definitely windy! So make sure to have warm gear around this time if you plan to spend some time up there. The 360 site was really cool to see! We spent about 20-30 minutes at the peak taking in the site and taking pictures. We took the Devils Backbone trail back down the peak. This route was definitely more narrow and steep, so definitely practice caution when trekking. This trail had awesome views all around. We took this road all the way to the Lodge and from there back to where we started. In total, it was about 11 miles. And took close to 6 hours in total, those snowing trails are a workout!
