Started from Chantry Flats, on the Sturtevant Trail. Weather looked promising after the quick storm the previous night. Sturtevant falls was a pleasant stop on the way. Past Sturtevant Camp I started to see small patches of snow, which slowly became larger and larger until I was hiking entirely in snow the rest of the way to the summit! The clouds ducking in and out of the clouds and the water/snow falling from the trees made for some cool (visual) moments along the trail. I was the first hiker to make it past Sturtevant Camp this morning as mine were the only shoeprints in the snow! I was in a short sleeve shirt while hiking (puffy in the pack), and only got cold when I spent time nerd-ing out about the telescopes on the peak 😉 Did the descent as a trail run, taking the Mt. Wilson trail down. Had a veggie burger and fries at the pack barn, and was excited to see they have embroidered patches for sale! (I collect patches…)
