Hi, everyone. Well, another peak taken out. I wasn't aware of the mileage until looking at the sign, after the return. It claimed the trail was 1.6 miles and so 3.2 round-trip. I guess the park was charting it from when Hunter and Sunset trailheads met with their sign. I count the all trails app giving it 2.8 miles starting from the visitor center. Anyway, I apologize for rambling. This was the first time in which I really held on to many wires for support. I got a real taste of mountaineering I think. Boy, was it an exhilarating hike. I was slightly disappointed in not seeing a sign at the top. It didn't have to be ours. Just a basic ledger/sign that clues everyone this was Picacho Peak. All I knew was I reached the top. I couldn't go any higher. Hahaha. The views were super. Fantastic state park. Thanks for including this trail as one of the winter peaks.
