We arrived at the trailhead at 6:00a and there were already 5 cars in the parking lot. By the time we left, it was completely full and cars were parked along the other side of the road. It was a beautiful crisp morning. The trail is pretty straight forward as long as you pay attention and don't take the alternate trail around mile 2. There were less than 6 people at the summit and it was as beautiful as always. This is truly one of my very favorite hikes with to the sweeping views all along the way. The drive out the Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) is also gorgeous, but you have to keep your eyes on the twisting turning roads. We saw several large groups (including 2 boyscout troups) of people heading up, as we were heading down.
