First for socal challenge, it was a cold start even if we left parking lot around 7:30a. It was a nice temperature once we started the hike. Along the way, there were some mirror-like ice build up on the water along the trail from recent rains. Grasses were also frosty on our way up but thawed on our way down.
The only muddy part was the entrance up to about quarter mile to the peak. The rest of the trail was much better this time than during the time when the trail was super dry.
There were 3 signs available this time and more hikers than usual. I guess since this is the first weekend when the rain decided to take a day off.
