Getting to the trailhead was tough because a popular navigation app routed me through some dirt bike roads. After backtracking to stay on 41N18, and
Winds were high but weather conditions were clear. No bugs, but volcanic rock made footing difficult for quite a distance.
Great hike with incredible views of Mt Shasta and surrounding area.  Accessing trailhead is not obvious.  Don’t rely solely on apple or google maps.  Get
The weather was fair with only a few other people on the trail. Parking was a little tight.
