Definitely need a high clearance vehicle to get to the trail head. Beautiful day. No other hikers, but lots of trucks heading up.

Gate Closed at Maple Springs Visitor Center FML
Brought the big 4×4 Jeep and they wouldn’t let us in due to impending storm. Our only choice was to start the 24.1 mile hike

The drive to and from the trailhead is more concerning than the hike which is a comfortable gradual incline along a dirt road.
