This hike will be nicer if it was done when the weather was cool. We hiked in mid July and the temperatures Rose very quickly.
95 degree hike. Not much shade. The last .36 miles were very tough going steep uphill, on a narrow path, that was mostly washed out,
We started at 4:45am. Lots of bugs and lots of warm heat pockets. The trail is a little overgrown. We had a pre birthday celebration
I wish we started a couple hours earlier than our 7am start because of the heat. It took us a bit longer as we needed
We planned on doing Santiago Peak this morning, but the gate was locked on the Temescal side, and I wasn’t mentally prepared to go around
