Santiago Peak

Drove up in the dark and was on thectrail before the sun came up which made this hike special.  When the sun came up we

dragging my butt up the road with cars going by, really tested my integrity.

We decided to given Santiago Peak a try. I've summited this peak before but out of Holy Jim Trail which is about 16.5 mi round

Took Maple Springs fire road most of the way up. If you head to Maple Springs, do not start your hike at the visitors center

I remember biking this and Mojeska  in my late 20's.  Set out early, caught shade for the dog and I on the way up.  Crossed

Hot and humid hike today. Bugs were harmless but very annoying. Very challenging and great views at summit.
