Sawmill Mountain

We were hoping that snowshoeing would be an option between Piños and Sawmill but that wasn’t the case.  It was very icy but not snowshoe

The street to the Vincent Tumamait trailhead was closed so plane B we hiked in from mount Pinos campground via McGill trail to mount Pinos

Parked at Mt. Pinos campground took McGill trail to Mt.Pinos then took Vincent Tumamait trail to Sawmill…spent some time reading the mountain contours to practice

Hiked up to Sawmill from the Nordic Center.  Trail covered with hard snow/ice for most of the way.  Microspikes on for most of the trip. 

Beautiful day for my third peak in the SoCal challenge. For some reason, neither Apple Maps nor Google Maps would give us the correct directions

Lot’s of snow.
