Kicking off the summer right! Bagged our first peak of 6, Mt. Baldy. It was an intense climb but thank God I have the best crew! ❤️ I am a fast hiker and my husband is a pro, but it's a whole new game summiting with an infant and a toddler. Wouldn't have it any other way though! Hoping to complete the 6 pack of peaks challenge as a family. ❤️❤️❤️

That’s fantastic, @rickandroe! Good luck on the other peaks!
@jeffhester Thanks, Jeff!
Congrats! How old is your little one? I have a 3 month old and I’d be worried about the altitude on such a hike. Any tips?
`Thanks, Sergio! She’s 8 months old. My son was 7 months old when he summited a fourteener in CO, he just made the cut as they won’t allow 6 months and younger. I would wait until your baby is a little older. Here’s a link about Altitude Sickness, https://www.babycenter.com/0_altitude-sickness_11223.bc
Happy trails!
This is awesome!! I just had a baby and have been thinking how feasible a summit climb would be. I would imagine it would take a long time with stops for feedings. And Baldy took us several hours. Would an infant be comfortable for that long in the carrier??
Thank you, Denise!
I hiked with my babies in the baby front carrier for the first 3 months and started with the backpacks around 4 months when they were able to hold their head up good. They are very comfortable and happy in it, they only complain when they’re hungry. Yes, we took our time going up because each kid had different eating schedule and we also made sure they got a lot of play time. Good luck and enjoy hiking with your babe!
