Started at trailhead before 6pm. We climbed over two trees. A gradual climb, switchbacks, rock scramble, and areas not as steep to allow heartbeat to come back down, but to keep moving. Wind was a bit fierce at the top, and it was cold. Made it up in about 1 hour 45 minutes. The return showed the shadow of Mount Bachelor and beautiful sunset over South Sister and Broken Top. We were down past the rocks when we put our headlamps on. Turned them off several times to just enjoy the night sky.

Great photos, Tanya! Very cool to see Bachelor’s shadow so crisply. This is a great one to do at sunset, since it’s not terribly long. I may have to make a return trip just for the photo ops!
