Most of the trail is through burned out dry forest, until you get close to the top it opens up with healthy treeline and wildflowers. Lots of loose red cinder rocks as you climb to the top. The huge crater cliff is awesome, however, sadly the views were obscured by the smokey skies. At the very top of the highest rock peak were a nest of buzzing flies, odd it was only at that particular rock spot!
