Want to Climb Mt Whitney, Mt Hood, or Grand Teton?

Over the years, I've seen many people tackle the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge to help them train for even bigger goals. Recently on Facebook, I've enjoyed celebrating with friends who were successful in snagging a permit for Mount Whitney in the permit lottery (and commiserating with those who weren't). But even if you didn't get a permit, you can still climb Whitney, or other iconic and technical mountains including Mount Hood (the highest in Oregon) and Grand Teton, via Big City Mountaineers Summit for Someone program.

At the time of writing, they currently have openings available for their Mount Whitney, Mount Hood and Grand Teton climbs. Both Hood and Grand Teton are technical routes, though Mount Whitney has a hiking trail that's passable in the summer months, they are climbing via the Mountaineers Route.

Each of these trips has a minimum fundraising requirement, but you'll get resources to help you meet those goals. And your fundraising helps support Big City Mountaineers mission of access to the outdoors for youth from disinvested communities.

If your idea of adventure looks a little different, check out their Adventure for Someone program, where you choose your own adventure and fundraising goals. People have setup fundraisers for biking, hiking, backpacking and more. You could even rally your friends, family and employer to fundraise with an adventure goal of completing the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge!

Remember, just by participating in the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge, you're helping support BCM. As of the end of March, we've raised over $7,000 for BCM just in 2022.
