Mt. Baldy Now Open!
Also on this hike
The trail has finally reopened after the fire, and it was packed with avid hikers eager to summit.
We took the Baldy Bowl Trail for the ascent, which offered a good, steep push—exactly what we were looking for as part of our TMB training. The descent via Devil’s Backbone was not windy, scenic, and just technical enough to stay sharp.
Perfect weather throughout: cool temps with light cloud coverage kept the trail comfortable and the views dramatic. Our group kept a steady, focused pace—training is in full swing now, and this hike was a great benchmark.
