Trail is in good condition and partially shaded, but still the sun is quite brutal and it gets quite hot late morning – midday. Hiking
Grays is required if you summit Torreys
I highly recommend Torreys before Grays. Torreys approach is steeper so it’s a nice to finish in a easier way.

Stayed overnight at the Trailhead to be sure we had a spot to park – arrived around 5:30 pm and lot was full by 9.
Torreys before Gray keeps the Congo line away
Camped Friday night. Got there 5:30. Lot was full by 9pm. Expect to park way down towards I70. Easy trail to follow at 5:15 am.
