Batchy butte

Warm up hike for South Sister the next day. Parked at the Sunrise Lodge gate right off of Cascade lakes hwy. Walked through the parking lot and stated the trail from there. Kind of a “choose your own adventure” from that point on. A mix of trail and gravel roads up to the top. Just follow the ski lifts and head for the building at the summit. Perfect blue sky day without a cloud in sight and temps in the 70’s. Great view of three sisters, broken top, jefferson etc. to the north. Diamond peak, thielsen, maiden peak etc. to the south. If you’re in shape and used to hiking, this hike is an absolute breeze. Fun trail and some of the best views around.
