Could you honestly ask for a better hike? A moderate trail that offers amazing scenery, a good elevation increase and its thousands of prickly plants. Being an Arizona native, cactus is not any kind of an unfamiliar plant to me.. even fell into one as a kid. However, on this hike I was blown away by the multitude of saguaros and all types of cactuses. I began my hike at 12:50 in the afternoon and reached the peak at 2:28. Completed the hike at 4:27. This is an easy trail to “lose yourself in”. I spent about 20 minutes up on the park. I would have spent longer but it was very windy and chilly. Loved every bit of this hike and I am thankful that this challenge introduced me to this one out in this area. It’s a 2 1/2 hour drive out well worth every part. This hike also showed me how important routines are. I had fallen down with a bad cold for 2 1/2 weeks and had not been able to work out. I felt the lag on my body, but pushed through telling myself it’s only temporary and to keep my eye on what I was working towards. Keep on hikin’ my hiking friends.. life is truly amazing!!
