Wildflowers blooming

Epic hike at Henry Coe! It snowed a couple days ago, and there were still small patches of snow in shady areas. The 16-mile hike took me 10 hours total. Lots of tough uphills and downhills, although I was expecting that. No marker at the summit, but I was expecting that, too. Wildflowers are just getting started. I didn’t see any other hikers the entire time! It was getting dark toward the end, and I started to get freaked out about mountain lions. I’ve only seen one once before, and it was about ten years ago in the same park! Anyway, I made it back to my car shortly after sunset and (clearly) unscathed. I sure booked it up that last incline, though! My calves are super sore today. Overall, a wonderful hike! I want to do a short backpacking trip here in the future.
