My friend and I took a trip to Vermont and hiked both mount Mansfield and mount Camel’s Hump on the same day.

We started at Burrows trail. This trail is about 2.1 miles long and it’s rated as difficult. First half of trail is just gradual ascend without any steep parts. Second part of trail is pretty difficult with a lot of vertical gain in short distance. There are no views until you reach last 0.2 miles before the summit. We took a break at the top to enjoy some great 360 views because sky cleared out by the time we got to the top. Same as at the summit of mount Mansfield, it was windy and cold (probably in lower 50s). We took Long Trail South to Forest city trail which goes back to the parking lot. Part of the trail from summit to intersection with Forest city trail is difficult with lots of rocks and steep parts. Forest city trail is moderate and really just a stroll through the woods compared to the Long Trail.

We reach our car and wrapped up this successful hiking day in Vermont.

Hiked distance: 5.58  miles

Duration: 4h 13min 48sec

Elevation gain: 2349 ft
